I left behind a beautiful morning in North Wales, in exchange for a few hours on the M6 heading north to the Lake District.

Where I spent the rest of the day in the conference room at Brathay Hall, on Windemere, with the Heads of Outdoor Education Centres, Gold Management Group.

The view from the window was very enticing, but apart for a short walk in the garden in the afternoon, we stayed focused reviewing all the paperwork, policies and procedures of the Gold Award.

Herdy was on reception!

Work went on well into the night!…

The next morning I had a short run before breakfast to try and at least see a little bit of the Lake District before heading home. Later that morning, we got shown around the ‘Whalers’ – a set of boats that Brathay is famous for.

Then it was back to work, followed by back on the road without even time for a dip in the lake!
