Autumn Sunshine

Back home – expedition paperwork all sorted, budget checked, clothes washed, tent dried, bike cleaned, chain oiled and meals eaten using generally more than a spork.

Even got the grass cut too, as the heavy dew eventually (mostly) evaporated.

Clare and I went east on Saturday and climbed at Pen y Corddyn Mawr as the skies looked blue that way. The views from the crag were super.

To be fair, the skies were generally clearing in the mountains too, but it was significantly warmer at a sheltered crag, than a mountain cliff, exposed to the cold breeze. The crag looses the sun by 14:00. It was warm enough to stay for more, but we decided to head down to the seaside instead…

We stopped off for supplies and pulled in at Llanfairfechan for a picnic, before continuing on to The Cottage, for some pizza making.

Pen y Corddyn Mawr Climbs:

  • Magic Carpet Ride, 5b
  • Purple Haze, 6a
  • Catching Moby, 6a
