Evening Slates

This week there has been a lot of time spent here, living inside excel spreadsheets, programming apps and general expedition paperwork! Not my usual environment but a necessary one every now and then.

Fuelled mostly by a lot of coffee as I’ve moved between various offices and meetings.

Clare and I did get a few hours on Wednesday evening for a short hike up above the house which was as good for my eyes (away from a screen!) as much as my legs (out of an office chair!).

This evening, after a damp day, a bust of sunlight gave us the chance to nip into the local quarry for a climb. The place is becoming over run with goats!

For ease of movement and enjoyment rather than any thing too taxing on body or brain, we opted for one of our favourite classic climbs.

So enjoyable… Just the right amount of challenge and safety.

And with a wonderful view of Snowdon from the top. All bathed in a glorious evening light.

On the walk out, the evening skates were glowing in the low sun.

I also tried a little more reflection photography on the way back to The Cottage. A fine start to this year’s birthday weekend!
