What a super home coming it’s been. The weather has been spectacular and we’ve been able to make the most of being home at The Cottage, with swims, climbs, and a bit of Cottage DIY all nicely interspersed with some nice socials. Lucy was visiting from the South West, so we had a lovely morning catching up over a walk to the river swimming hole with her and the family. Having been in the sea and river, the lake at Llanberis is still the warmest spot we’ve swam in.

We did our best to view the eclipse, but didn’t manage to get a proper photo of it, despite being assured that I’d be able to! This was apparently at full eclipse – still seemed pretty bright to me! We still had a fun evening and dinner with Beth regardless.

Having not been to the beach in the while (apart from the Skeleton Coast, but it was a tad cooler there), we made an early exit from The Cottage one morning, and were in the water around 07:30am (yes, it was that warm!) for a quick lap of the bay before breakfast. Beth joined us soon after and together we took the paddleboards for a short journey around the rocks. The water was crystal clear, so it was almost as good as snorkelling.

We even took the coffee brewing gear to the beach! Why rough it?!

We got back to The Cottage for a late lunch and a bit of painting, but it was so hot that we popped back out to the lake for a second swim of the day before bed!

Fun days out and cosy nights in. It’s great living in a holiday cottage!

And in between all this fun, we’ve managed to get the outside of the house painted – it’s no easy task painting pebbledash, but we are very pleased with our efforts!
