To start off Clare’s (Monday/Tuesday) ‘Birthday Weekender‘ we set out to try and find a combination of warm, dry rock with a bit of sunshine. An optimistic ask, given the wet weather that the day had started with.

We started at Marle Buttress, where although it wasn’t warm, the rock was just about dry enough to climb.

And, as promised, the sun did make a late appearance.

A little refuel later in the afternoon took place at the Heartland Coffee Roasters, before we continued up to the town crags of the Great Orme.

Here, the little sun there was had just left the rock face, so we just climbed one good but steep, route before heading back to The Cottage feeing tired and accomplished.
