As well as learning how to drive a 4×4, we’ve been brushing up on our rope rescue skills before we depart to Namibia.

An evening going up and down ropes and then escaping from belay systems. Like our first aid training, they are skills I hope we won’t need, but still need to know!

Alongside preparations for Namibia, I’ve also been packing rations and kit checking for an expedition to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, which I’m fitting in before the end of the month!

And along side that, I’ve been doing some teamwork and aptitude skills tests and training. Oh, and I also got shown a little lost chick…

Clare and I had an evening in Menai Bridge this week and on the way home saw a real beauty of a rainbow.

There have been lots of things going on this week – too much to photograph and document really. Somehow, I even managed to fit in a quick evening of climbing with some keen students on the Orme..

Tramstation crag – before it got dark…

And for a nice change of scene, I helped at a sailing event at Llyn Brenig!

Climbs at Tramstation Crag:
Carboniferous Walk, 5a
Blood from the Quinn, 6b+ (felt harder!)
