In the North Sea with Cece

Back from the Palace in time for a repack and the back on the road a few days later. This time with an alpine alarm call of 04:30am to beat both the head and the bank holiday traffic and we headed north…

Worth it though for quiet roads and getting over the bridge to Newcastle before the day had really got going.

Had a very nice breakfast too!

Next stop was a Mexican food festival at Wylam Brewery, where we spent a very happy afternoon in the sun with Andy and co.

On Sunday we all drove together over to Tynemouth Bay…

Where conditions were perfect for some paddleboarding. Not a breath of wind and not a ripple of surf. Just right for Cece’s first go. Although it was warm, the sea remained very cold!

A brilliant few hours floating about and jumping in with ever increasing confidence… Great stuff.

Good times indeed and warm enough to eat dinner in the garden afterwards as well. Fine hospitality indeed!
