Moel Siabod

Another fine day with the clouds (mostly) off the summits, but with a very cold wind. No good for rock climbing, but okay for another blast up a mountain in the afternoon.

We left home after lunch and began walking through the forest at around 2pm. Once out on the open mountainside, we were walking straight up into the eye wateringly cold wind.

But the views were great and we were well wrapped up.

Near the top ridge, we entered into the clouds, so didn’t get a summit view.

But we did get some respite from the wind in the enormous summit shelter.

A few metres higher, we got a phot but didn’t linger at the summit trig point.

The it was back down the same way to Capel Curig, with good view of the lakes and the famous ‘Beatrice Gap’ between the two.

There was a lovely ‘low light’ as we crossed the bridge and walked back up to the car. Fifteen minutes later we were serving up coffee at The Cottage café, feeling suitably accomplished.
