First Slates of the Season

More hazy sunshine and light winds meant that we got to climb our first slate routes of the year today. It was nice to walk back in along the path and enjoy the familiar views.

It seems to be a bit of a tradition to climb this route at least a handful of times a year and it felt just as good today.

After climbing ‘Fresh Air’, we moved up a tier where we were surprised to find a lot of climbers. We knew quite a few of them, so it turned out to be quite a social scene and luckily for us, they were not on the climbs we wanted to do, so we fitted in and enjoyed another route – on a cliff that we first climbed on together twenty one years ago!

Snowdon was just about free of cloud and the sun was just managing to give some warmth as well as nice reflections as we walked back home. We had time for a quick change of outfits before heading over to Menai Bridge where a wonderful sunset was happening, followed by a lovely meal out by the Menai Straits. Thanks Pat!
