Welcome to the Mountain Lifestyle Blog! It’s a mountain and outdoor adventure based blog for documentation, inspiration and motivation. A collection of muses, adventures and thoughts that follow the life and times of me – Ian Martin and my mountain based lifestyle. Depending on the season, expect to encounter plenty of mountaineering, climbing, surfing, cycle touring and ski touring posts. Some trips are just for fun, others as a leader in a professional capacity. Personally, I’ve led many expeditions and was one of the first and youngest people to achieve the International Mountain Leaders Award. I also hold the Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor Award, which represents the highest possible qualification in UK mountaineering. I’m also a published author of “The Van Bivi Logbook”. It’s a quirky collection of unique travel stories, friendships and adventures that were all born from real journeys and explorations; transported and housed in the unlikely confines of an old Ford Escort Van. As well as living my own adventures and travels, I am Head of Outdoor Education at St David’s College, where expeditions play a big part in the educational curriculum. I am responsible for the planning and overseeing of many adventurous overseas expeditions, in a variety of disciplines each year. See you out there, Ian Martin
