From our high viewpoint yesterday afternoon we identified a good looking beach that seemed to be a short hike from the hotel. After another suitably leisurely start, we packed our swimmers and set out on foot. At the cliff top above the beautiful bay of Sol d’en Serra there was a great swing…

And a few minutes walk further, past a cafe that was still a few weeks from opening, we found our deserted beach.

We walked a little way along the rocky beach that was made private by the steep cliffs, then settled in to soaking up some heat then testing the waters.

Absolute magic!

The weather was perfect for warming back up on the hot beach rocks, without really needing a towel as we shivered from the cooling waters. The high cliffs kept us sheltered from any breeze.

To get back to the hotel, we followed a faint footpath up the hill and along the coastal ridge, back up to yesterday’s peak. This gave a nice little 4 or 5km loop and made sure we were both warmed back up and with a good appetite on arrival.

Lunch was served until 15:00, so there was no rush. The main challenge was not eating or drinking too much as we both fancied another swim in the bay outside the hotel.

After locating a good entry point from the rocks, we got in for a delightful float about. The water was too cold for pretty much everyone else at the hotel, but when you’re used to the sea off North Wales, it felt pretty good.

Good times…
