Low Viz Cader Idris

My students and I made an early start to try and get the ‘best of the weather’ for an ascent of Cader Idris. While the weather wasn’t terrible, there wasn’t much to see for our efforts!

This was as much as we could see of the lake!

As we were a strong team, we decided to change things up from the ‘normal’ ascent route, and instead, ascended the scrambling scree slopes up the ridge to the summit. Half way up, we got a glimpse of the view…

But on top, having taken a compass bearing to the summit, there wasn’t much to photograph between the rain.

We returned via the Pony Path, and this was the best of the views…
