A night of heavy, cold rain at The Cottage, meant that there was a new cover of snow in the mountains! Good timing for my student mountaineering group.

From 600m up, there was a lot of fresh wet snow – perfect for snowballs and snowmen.

I had to change plan several times as the conditions changed and in the end the group opted for ‘snowcraft’ (building snowmen), rather than a second summit.

The built an enormous tower. Pretty impressive really.

Before finally summiting Carnedd y Filiast as the sun did its best to come out.
