After joining a meeting online, at Alicante Airport, we finally left the blue skies of Spain.

The flight was a good one, with a nice ariel view of Valencia, and the the snow covered Pyrenees.

Back at The Cottage, it was nice to arrive home to some blue skies and new daffs in the garden.

The air was cold, but bright and it must have been a chilly week here as the van battery was drained flat!

Unfortunately, the clouds arrived the next day and with them, strong winds and some good downpours.

After a week of wearing shorts and sandals, it felt funny to be togged up again in full waterproofs. I’ve been attempting/trying to teach some Duke of Edinburgh’s Award ‘expedition skills’. Things almost got out of hand when the wind really flexed its muscles and sent one of our tents up into a tree! Ha ha! Character building stuff! – At least we were only practicing and didn’t have to sleep out in such conditions…
