An unhurried day of climbing, sunshine and sightseeing. It was lunch time by the time we arrived at the col that leads to the crag of Marin. The views were so good and the temperature agreeable, that we sat on top for another hour just chatting, eating and looking at the view.

There was no one at the left hand crags, so we changed our plan and went over to them, so as to keep the solitude.

We climbed a handful of great routes on good rock. Some of the routes here were steeper and a bit polished, so not great for the heat of the day, but in between them we picked out some good lines to climb.

In the valleys there are orchards full of trees in bloom with pink and white blossom. Not knowing what tree they were, we used an App to identify them – it turns out they are Almond trees. Beautiful.

It was dusk by the time we arrived home. After dinner we took a walk into the town centre. Around 1900, it (Novelda), must have been quite a place. There were grand buildings, a big church and various monuments all lit up.
