A trip to the coast today to celebrate twenty-two years together!

We spent the morning strolling around our local town of Novelda, enjoying the warmth of the day. An old casino building has been turned into a community space – inside (and out), was incredible and looked almost unchanged from when it was built. Someone had some cash to spend on furnishing back then!

After lunch, we drove to the nearest beach. There was enough of a breeze to put us off swimming, but it was perfect for a long walk along the deserted waters edge. It looks super remote in the photos, but (just out of shot), behind us and along the coastline are the big sky-rise apartments of Alicante.

It was almost sunset when we arrived home, so we took to the rooftop for some celebratory snacks…

The warmth of the evening sun was lovely as we enjoyed our private view over the chaotic rooftops while the sun dipped and the colours changed. Magic.
