Kites on Criccieth Beach

We were both pretty tired from yesterday’s dancing and the previous day’s hike, so we took time not to rush things too much this morning. Cottage Pancakes gave a good start to what became a productive and social day.

Sinead, Sam and Oscar were visiting from Ireland and were due to meet up with us yesterday, but due to a late ferry and various other obstacles, we had to reluctantly admit that things weren’t going to work out this time. However, an afternoon Plan B got us down to near where they were staying, and the weather was kind enough to give us some reasonable kite-flying conditions! They are the kind of friends that we don’t see often enough, but when we do, it feels like we were with them only last week. We had a great few hours on the beach, catching up with each other’s news and generally chasing around.

It was just about dry enough, but a really heavy downpour sent us (quite happily), into the cafe for a drink before we said our goodbyes.

Made it back to The Cottage in time to get the fire lit and dinner cooked, before Matt arrived! A good day of fun and chat before we head off on our next adventure….
