Fort Martin

Took a quick trip down to Fort Martin to say ‘Happy New Year’, as I’d had to postpone my usual January visit. After a late Sunday night, I headed off down the M6 on Monday morning, stopping only briefly for a brew en-route…

We had a good walk around the ‘wetlands’ area of the village after some nerve-wracking ladder climbing and chimney repairs – hats off to Tom who came over for the ‘second ascent’ and showed me how to do it properly (the ladder climb and repair!).

Clare and I have been busy making expedition plans for this summer, and it looks like this year’s journey will require some 4×4 transport. It seems that something like this should do the trick?….

Had a good sunset before heading back to The Fort for ‘a meeting’ and general chit-chat… Good times…

It was just the two of us for dinner, but we decided it still warranted the best silverware and we made a toast to Dad and Mom’s most recent investments.

By Tuesday evening, I was back in North Wales for a final meeting of the day. This time, I was positioned by the warmth of the fire at least… Home late… Exhausted…
