We were hoping to get back up into the snow again today, but strong winds, low clouds and warmer temperatures convinced us that perhaps, more enjoyment might be sought from a lower level exploration.

From the Conwy Valley, we made our way up though the shelter of the woods, past various mine shafts and a bit of searching for Fools Gold in the river along the way.

A few fallen trees from the recent storms threatened to block the way, but we found a way through and arrived in time for lunch at the shores of Llyn Parc.

After hiking up in the rain, it was nice to actually see a glimpse of blue sky as we experimented with a bit of reflection photography.

The group wanted a bit of independence, so I returned to the bus, while they hiked across the hillside to Betws-y-Coed, where we met later as planned. Meanwhile, Clare and her Mum were watching the Kingfisher at the Conwy bird reserve!

As the rain and wind continued into the evening, it was a good night to get the fire lit and make pizzas together!
