Having been to Conwy plenty of times over the years and driven past it considerably more, I finally had the chance to take a look inside the town’s famous castle!

It’s free to walk around on the top of the town walls, but for about a tenner, you can get inside and wander through the old building and get up to the top of the many towers.

It’s only the ruins that really remain, but they are still some very impressive ruins! It must have been an incredible place back when in it was in full operation. And incredibly, it only took four years to build, some 700 years ago! Built to last back then!

The stained glass in the kings chapel still remains…

But some of the sandstone blocks are well weathered now!

A nice place for a look around with my little team of international students. Having told them it was a ‘must visit’ landmark while they are in the UK, it was a little embarrassing that I’d never visited it before! Good to have it ticked!

Clare and I finished off the weekend with a fantastic roast dinner and some ‘interesting’ drinks, to celebrate our friend Matt, so had just worked his last weekend before moving on to a new job.
