With such glorious hill walking conditions across the National Park, we opted to get back up high onto the tops. There was still a blanket of cloud over Anglesey to the north, but the mountains were in tip-top condition!

There were a few wisps of cloud in the valley still, but otherwise all the summits were clear. That’s Snowdon with the tiny film of cloud on the summit (left hand peak).

Up on the summit of Elidir Fawr, the temperatures were incredible for mid-October! Almost 20 degrees!

After reaching the summit of Elidir Fawr, we chose to continue on around the Horseshoe route as it was so nice, we didn’t want to rush back down.

After lunch on Mynydd Perfedd, we descended Filiast to to car. Rather than go home, we drove straight to the river for a muscle reviving cold dunk. The water is starting to feel painfully cold now, so I don’t think I’ll be doing that for much longer this year!

At least the air was warm afterwards to warm up in. And it was only a two minute drive to The Cottage for post hike Pancakes! Lovely…
