A steady stream of windy (and at times gale) conditions have been blasting across North Wales over the past few weeks. I’ve had to cancel a couple of planned activities over the past week, as even driving seemed like a risky business! There’s not been huge amounts of rain, but sudden downpours have been impressive and the skies have actually looked spectacular at times as well as threatening!

I did manage to duck into some sheltered woodlands for some foraging and general explorations with some younger students, where, if you look closely, there’s all sorts of life and growth…

We summited Moel y Ci on Thursday, which was a hoot – a low altitude summit, but even I could barely stand up on the summit as the wind roared across it!

Excellent conditions for ‘leaning into the wind’!

We also had a few ‘wildlife encounters’ on our little low level trek!…

Once ‘Storm Amy’ arrived, we decided to postpone some activities and rock climbing sessions, were done indoors, leaning the technical skills of rope coiling, knot tying etc, ready for some better weather!
