The rain has passed and high pressure weather is returning to North Wales – a good time to get reacquainted with our local mountains.

Clare and I went up Y Garn above the Ogwen Valley to ‘stretch the legs’ and get some hill fitness.

The passing of the rain meant that the air clarity and visibility was amazing and we could see right down to Cardigan Bay from the summit of Y Garn, which we reached after and hour and ten minutes.

After a decent picnic, we returned the same way back down to Ogwen Cottage, then in the warmth of the afternoon went for a swim!

The lake had great views of Snowdon, but the water felt very cold! We didn’t last long. Definitely a dip rather than a swim this time.

Back to The Cottage to warm up by making an attempt to cut the grass after 3 months of growth! Then some rest with a wonderful sunset.
