We didn’t stray far from the luxury of the roof top terrace today. With the bikes locked up the basement and a fridge full of supplies, we had everything we needed and all we really had to do was sit back, rest and enjoy the views… (and consume a good amount of fine food and drink!).

We did venture out to see a few of the city sights as well, but didn’t have to walk too far. This view is 50m from the front door!

We found a cool model of the town – I’ve marked our little apartment in red to show how central it was.

Here’s a few of the views from our short stroll… There’s even a castle here with a roof top viewing balcony and a quiet little bar by the entrance. We tucked ourselves away in the bar surrounded by the old walls and windows in a secluded courtyard. I tried their locally brewed ‘beer of the day’ which turned out to be 8% strength! Luckily it was only a short walk home…

Roof top dining and general penthouse sofa appreciation saw us through the rest of the day very happily indeed. A proper ‘holiday’ day!
