Being back in North Wales, shocked me pleasantly straight into summer mode, after a few weeks living in insulated trousers! It was 20°C at The Cottage, so a wonderful welcome home to stroll the garden, barefoot in a pair of shorts, while the washing machine worked overtime getting rid of the smell of dogs from everything I owned!

Sledding kit was packed away and replaced for ski gear. Arctic April was set to continue a few days later in northern Norway. Being in the garden definitely felt a long way from the past icy days!

After getting myself and all my gear clean and washed, we had time to catch up with a few local friends, before heading over to Fort Martin.

Had a day with the little dudes, exploring some old haunts and remembering a few key childhood hangouts in the woods, which was great fun.

Then with the final piece of travel logistics complete, next stop was Heathrow Airport to head back to winter in the Arctic!
