Went for an afternoon hike around the south side of Snowdon, to keep the legs working and get some different views.

Setting out from Nant Gwynant, we followed the Snowdon Watkin path to begin with. The weather is still bright, but has turned much colder.

With it only being about 4°C we decided not to stop and swim in the pools…

Instead, we carried on upwards to the Col (Bwlch Cwm Llan).

The ridge up to Snowdon was looking very appealing, as was the peak of nearby Yr Arran, but time and energy convinced us otherwise.

Rather than make a late evening of it, we retraced our steps so that we could get some bits done at The Cottage.

The light was good as the sun lowered and the clouds were signalling a change in the weather for tomorrow…

The pools were in the shade on our return, so the swim option was vetoed!

It was still nice to stop and look though.

Just under 9km there and back with 500m of height gain.
