A late afternoon race to see if we could catch the sunset from the top of Carnedd y Filiast!

Although it looked very tranquil under the cloudless skies, a strong, cold wind was blowing as we walked as quickly as we could up our local peak. Having unexpectedly had the last couple of hours of daylight both free and together, we wanted to make the most of the sunshine!

It was worth a bit of sweating and buffering from the wind to get the views. From the shelter of the summit cairn we had a snack and even answered a few urgent emails while bathing in the orange glow of sunset! What an office space!

There were still a few remnants of snow left, but the winter wonderland of only a few days ago has gone almost without trace…

So as to not be out in the dark, we put our hoods up and headed back home as the sun hit the horizon. Within the hour we were back home having dinner!
