It’s been an active week of water sports work for me – always a good thing at this time of year when the water is at it’s warmest. It’s been tiring work, but one evening we hiked up the hill behind The Cottage as it felt like a good sunset might be on the way. It was twenty degrees still at gone 8pm as we watch the sun dip in a sensational array of colour…

We didn’t stay up on the summit until dark, but as we walked back downhill the purple heathers were glowing in the light.

On Saturday I was out scrambling along the tidal cliffs of Anglesey ‘coasteering’ in glorious sunshine and prior to that I led some stand up paddle groups at the lake wearing just shorts and a buoyancy aid. I was clearly too busy to be stopping to take photos of the glorious weather and only got my camera out yesterday, once things had taken a change weatherwise! A low cloud covered the mountains and almost all of the lake!

We had planned a paddleboard session on the sea, but incoming northerly winds and swell, put us off a bit and we retreated to the slightly more sheltered and actually quite atmospheric lake at Llanberis. Even though the air temperature has cooled a bit, the water was at least holding the heat.

After all the summer travels, we’re slowly getting back into the groove of Welsh life. It’s nice.
