With more computer based jobs to work through, we were pleased to be able to ‘nip out’ on our bikes at high tide and cycle down to the coast. It was a 10km ride that was almost all downhill and got us to the end of the straits just as the tide began to drop in time for a lunch picnic.

It also meant that the river and tide combinations had created a little swim spot. Naturally we had our kit with us, so cooled off with a quick dip before cycling back up the hill, this time via the cycle track.

You can’t see them, but as we left a hundred or so Egrits flew overhead.

Passed a very cool new bench as well. Nicely carved.

We took the tunnel home, which always feels exciting! Arrived home mid afternoon and picked up where we’d left off, but feeling much more refreshed!
