With a day of indoor meetings ahead of me, I decided on an early start and use the bike to travel along the coast to Llandudno. The sun was just coming up over the mountains as I set off from The Cottage into the cool of the morning.

I took a route that uses the new cycle path alongside the A55. While the traffic free smooth tarmac felt good, the roar of the passing traffic, litter and weed killed vegetation made it less idyllic than the usual quiet back roads of our ‘balcony route’. However, once down at sea level it was pure enjoyment as the miles slipped by.

I was a bit unsure on how long the 34km ride was going to take me, (I wasn’t on the eBike!), so didn’t take a stop until I reached the bridge at Conwy .

At the end of the bridge I settled down to enjoy my breakfast and take in the ambience of the morning view at high tide.

With just enough time to spare, I took a 2 minute detour to pass by the Coffee Shop in Llandudno, where I enjoyed a quick coffee and chat before pushing on. I literally had ten minutes to spare before arriving at the meeting venue, so managed to grab a quick shower, brush my teeth and arrived at 09:29 feeling on top of the world!

Happily, John was able to give me a lift home in his van as a ‘there and back in a day’ is a bit of an ask when there’s work to be done was well!
