Over the new few weeks, we’re finally taking the time to give The Cottage some upgrades. Step one is to install some internal insulation, which even to the untrained eye is definitely going to be a little ‘disruptive’ to our usual living standards. To try and make it as easy as possible, we’re basically having to pack up all our belongings and virtually move out while the carnage takes place. It certainly feels like things will get a bit worse before it gets better, but hopefully, we’ll end up much better and the environment will say ‘Bravo’.

Once we’d done as much as we could, we nipped out to the quarry for a quick try out of the new ropes! Usually we’d avoid the cliffs on a bank holiday, but I was excited to give them a quick run in.

After negotiating some big goats we climbed a couple of our favourite routes and the sun shone through. For anyone who cares, the ropes are ‘Tendon Masters’ – they handle very well, my only complaint was that the colours were so bright they made us squint when we looked at them all piled at the base of the crag!
