A mammoth few days of safety checks in the equipment stores. Miles of rope and hundreds of carabiners to count, check, oil, fix, replace ready for the summer expedition season.

Not the most glamorous of outdoor activities, but an essential one. I even checked through all the rucksacks and emptied pockets of rubbish, apple cores and all sorts of lost items! A solid few days of team activity!

It’s been hard graft, but much easier working together to spread the load! I also managed a very last minute random night out at a gig with Richard Hawley who was playing a warm up show in Bethesda, before setting out on a UK tour. I saw his original band in 1994 in Northampton!
