Birthday Fun

It’s been great to have been able to spend Clare’s birthday together and especially on the hottest day of the year so far! It was such a stunning morning, that we went straight from bed and into the river for a pre-breakfast birthday wake up. Bliss!

We had planned on going rock climbing on the cliffs of Anglesey, but the conditions were also perfect for coasteering, so we got togged up in wetsuits and set off to find some cliffs to jump off!

This time I had a waterproof camera (ignore the incorrect time stamps on the photos!). It took a bit of getting used to as it was not an instant photo when you press the button to take the image. We ended up with a lot of pics like the one below, with a leg or body flying past the lenses before the camera shutter closed and captured the image!

But with practice we got better, and the jumps got bigger – with more air time allowing for greater luck with the camera!

Here are a few favourites!…

By swimming and climbing, we made our way around the coastline. It was better fun than taking the coastal path today! We squeezed through a few hidden slots and swam through huge hidden cave arch. It was amazing to be so immersed in the environment, that was otherwise inaccessible.

The water was a turquoise green colour and really deep. Even without our snorkel gear, you could see a long way down.

There was much to see as well as a good distance to swim.

A few hours later we arrived at a point where we could exit the water and get safely up the cliffs and back to the warmth of the van. It was a whopping 25°C on the drive home, then after a shower, we got the place ready for a BBQ…

A fun evening with friends ensued and some of the new pressies got a try out too!
