A fine spring morning, with light winds and blue skies made for a good day to visit the beach! To be fair, the wind was a little bracing and the sea was rather numbing of the toes, but there was a lightness in the air and it felt like summer was on it’s way.

It was an unusual Saturday for me, but with a slightly more relaxed feel. My students and I enjoyed all the fun of a structured, yet ‘un-structured’ day at the beach – chasing balls around, burying each other, collecting shells and all that sort of stuff, although the northerly breeze put us off ice creams.

All this sunshine has extenuated the fact that the evenings are beginning to draw out. After several late evenings at The Cottage doing various ‘upkeeping’ jobs, this evening, we grabbed our rucsacks and headed up the valley.

It had clearly been a busy day, as cars were parked all over the place! As hoped, we found found that most people were now leaving and arrived at the cliff base, just as the final team were walking away! The rock was warm to touch and we had the evening sun on our back as we scooted upwards.

A low stress and high enjoyment evening….

We didn’t hang around long on top, but stayed long enough to soak up the views and get back to the bags before the cool of the advancing shadows chilled things back down. Dinner at The Cottage was calling…
