After just over three weeks away, we arrived back home to lighter evening, but snow still on the mountains.

It felt like we’d been away for so long! Even memories of being in Turkey felt like weeks ago. It took a while to get back into the swing of Welsh life. Unpacking, cleaning and tidying took up the first day, while various friends called by to say hi. The over flowing rain gauge filled back up soon after I emptied it. But at least that gave a good day of white water kayaking on the Afon Llugwy!

It took a while to get the van going as it had been left of the drive with the battery going flat. Everything, including us, felt like it needed a jump start to get the week going after being away!

Had a good explore of the crags above Betws y Coed. Not easy to find in the dense woodlands!

But did locate ‘Conwy Buttress’ and will return to climb it once things dry out!
