Between the passing weather fronts, there have been some real moments of calm and tranquility.

Luckily for me one coincided with a canoeing day on Sunday. With barely a breath of wind and a pause in the drizzle, we had a magical Sunday exploring around the lake.

Mom arrived in Wales that same afternoon, for a mini tour of some of the classic views of the area. Based out of the luxurious Cottage accommodation, we hiked around Idwal and the Nant Ffrancon on Monday morning, before heading to the beach in the afternoon.

The tide and the sun were both out as we traversed the waters edge.

And then, much to my surprise, we decided to take our first Welsh sea swim (well, quick dip really) of the year! I dipped and Clare swam!

After more fine dining at The Cottage and a tour around Llandudno, we visited Aberfalls and finished the whistle stop tour with a pint in the Garddfon, by the fireside on the Menai Straits. Brilliant.

Thanks for coming! See ya next time Mo!
