Made it down to the beach to catch the last of the light after a fairly hefty day of jobs in and around The Cottage. There was a temptation to head back out climbing, but my lungs are still not up to full capacity and with a busy few weeks on the horizon followed by some foreign travel, it seemed prudent to stay productive back at base.

But just before the sun set, we both ‘downed tools’ and drove down the hill to the coast to catch the last of the light and dip our toes in the water. The wind had dropped completely and with the high tide, it made for a very tranquil scene.

We walked barefoot on the sand leaving our footprints next to the bird’s ones.

It was good conditions for admiring the reflections.

The water didn’t feel particularly cold but once the sun set the air temperature soon dropped to just above freezing. Although the skies had been blue, there is still snow on the mountain tops!
