It was nice to see a few more signs of Spring after returning home from a residential weekend away with students.

After spending almost all of December and the start of January away from The Cottage, we’ve had to give the place some love and attention. When we arrived home from Greece, we had water leaking in from the chimney, so have had to do some repairs to the roof. All good on days like today, but somewhat challenging in the recent storms!

It looks like we’re watertight again which is lucky as another 60mm of rain fell in less than 24hours yesterday! White water kayaking held a serious allure, but I decided to stay focused on jobs around The Cottage after a short, but soaking walk in the woods with Clare.

The brief appearance of the sun today made me think it might be a good day to get the washing out on the line. However, although it was dry, I didn’t factor in the winds and subsequently had to collect our washing from around the garden later in the afternoon!
