In a happily unplanned way, I ended up with another group of students at the Bird Hide near the Menai Straits again this weekend. How would have thought that a lively group of youngsters we get so transfixed with such an activity!

I’ve never know a group be so quiet for so long! Using binoculars and phones, we had a competition to see who could get the best photos – close up of landscape composition. I tried to mix both mediums!

We also used various apps to identify species and calls. Some of the good ones were Egrits, Siskins, Nuthatches and Goldfinches. No Kingfisher to be seen this time though.

Along side a walk along the straits and a trip around the sights of Caernarfon, it’s been a pleasant weekend.

Although, you can tell from the skies that there is a change on the way….
