Encountering Ideas of Place in Education

For the second time in as many years, I’ve been published in print! This time, it’s not a book of my own, but I am a contributor to an academic book which explores different ideas about how students can encounter ‘Place’ in education.

As part of my work as Head of Outdoor Education, I helped with some research in the field of Outdoor Education in conjunction with Bangor University. I only made a small contribution to the chapter, but it’s nice to get a little recognition!

Full credit really should go to Rev Tim Hall who started off and developed a series of Outdoor Education lessons with me, along the theme of exploring and experiencing a sense of spirituality in the outdoors – about fifteen years ago!

It’s written for academics, so it’s not such an easy read as ‘The Van Bivi Logbook‘, but it’s been nice to be part of the project and to also be part of a team that has helped to bolster the growing raft of research that supports the benefits of Outdoor Education.
