New Years Eve 2023

No climbing on New Year’s Eve this year – our tired hands just couldn’t take anymore sharp limestone! Instead, we had a wonderful morning at the beach outside the house.

Our first dip was straight out of bed, then after some food we returned for a longer snorkel.

Followed by lunch on the balcony in all our clothes as we tried to warm back up!

In the afternoon, a short drive along the coast took us to a new beach at Myrtoon. The underwater wildlife was incredible and the fish didn’t seem at all bothered about us being there.

We stayed in so long that we were shivering uncontrollably when we got out! We took a walk along the coast to see the new views and mainly to try and warm up…

We didn’t manage to stop for a New Year’s Eve drink as the only Taverna was only serving people who wanted a full 3 course meal and more. So we returned to our pad for hot showers and our own celebratory feast. The drive home was short but eventful as Google routed us to drive along a dried up river bed for a while!

But we made it back in time to see the New Year in, in our style… Cheers to all! We raised a glass to whatever 2024 may bring…
