The Swim/Climb Combo

We’ve had a splendid few days soaking up the best that Leonidio has to offer.

Lazy starts, beautiful swims, quality rock climbs and social evenings.

It’s been well into the afternoon by the time we’d had a few swims, feeds and got ourselves ready for some time on the rock.

The walk-ins were hot, but we found that belaying under the shade of an olive tree was the perfect temperature, while the climber enjoyed the sun on their backs.

Most of the rock has been very solid, but we found this bolted rock on the floor, which had come from somewhere up above! A warning sign to take care up there!

On one evening, we got a text from some friends from North Wales who were also climbing in the area. As it turned out, there were six of us who met for a drink and some games in the climbers cafe in town – the social hub here.

I’ve marked on our house on the photo below! Good beach access and not busy (unless you are a farmer!).

This morning, we watched several large dolphins swim gracefully across the bay before we got in for a beautiful snorkel. The water was so clear, we could dive deep down and saw all kinds of colourful fish and strange shells together. In the evening, just as the moon rose over the horizon, we swam by the light of the full moon. Absolutely magic!
