I’ve been involved with a trekking expedition along the Mawdach Valley to Fairboure this week, but thankfully I was given ‘light duties’ and responsible for equipment and logistics rather than students!

Four teams convened at Arthog Outdoor Education Centre, where I was waiting with all their overnight kit. After a good feed, we set out on an exciting night hike out to the spot near Fairbourne.

It was wet, wild and very windy! This was the view in the light of my head torch!

Some of the students had high powered torches that could light up the whole beach!

I was very glad to have on a brand new Gore-tex jacket which I had just received from Rab! It was beading up nicely and despite conditions, I was toasty warm.

The hike had the added bonus of wearing everyone out, so everyone slept through until the next morning, when the journey continued…
