Rocking Seattle!

What a fantastic way to celebrate my 25th Brain Day Anniversary! A quarter of a century since having part of my brain removed! (Well, at least the unwanted brain tumour part). How time flies. To celebrate we took the ferry ride over to Seattle to see the museum of modern culture’s rock and roll interactive exhibitions…

But not before a day of rest from our full on Smith Rock experience!

It was an unbelievably wet day in Bremerton, so we were happy to take it slow and get out in the torrential rain and temporary flash floods between naps!

Being in Seattle was super exciting! The big city really felt big! The exhibition was amazing, with all sorts of guitars and rock history on display!

But best of all were the instruments and recording booths where you could try out and get lessons on various instruments! We had an all in family rock out!

We recorded a few very entertaining (if somewhat shakey tunes) and had a real hoot, as well as getting some pics with the Space Needle and local hero Chris Cornell – who I saw at the Reading Festival in 1995! There was also a Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix experience.

After a good chat with Fort Martin, we went (for James and Dunni), to give the local Ice Hockey team a bit of appreciation!

And of course, a drive around the city – gaping at the astonishing array of enormous buildings and futuristic architecture.

Once we started to run out of energy, we got the ferry back home before dark so we could enjoy the views from the boat. We were allowed to stand on the back of the ferry as we pulled away from the city which gave a huge panorama.

And then whiled away the rest of the journey trying to make some impact on the in-situ jigsaws on the ferry, as we chugged home. A magic day!

Happy 25th Brain Day!
