Taking a break in Bremerton

We’ve had a fine few days hanging out to the west of Seattle, in the waterside town of Bremerton. It’s been nice to be staying in one place for a while! I seemed to have ducked any jet lag effects and apart from being a bit tired, feel pretty good, all things considered. Obviously good company, excellent hosts and fine accommodation has helped this process!

From the house, it’s a short walk down to the waters edge and it’s a walk that takes you conveniently past the friendly local coffee shop. It was a wet start to our visit, on the first morning, so we togged up in waterproofs and went out anyway.

Happily, things soon perked up weather wise, but as the clouds parted we could feel the temperature drop and got our first glimpse of the distant mountains.

The following morning, Clare woke me up so we could watch the sunrise glowing pink on the freshly covered snowy mountains.

Well wrapped up again, but this time in a ‘dry’ cold, we walked down to the water edge again.

And with the obligatory quick stop for coffee! The sun felt amazing on my skin, despite the temperature being only 4°C.

We spent a good while by the waters edge as the weather was lovely, the coffee good and none of us had a major rush to get back to the house. All very relaxing…
