Just us and the Pelicans down by the Noosa River this morning. The tide was in, the water calm, the wind light. What a way to wake up. It even felt warmer than last time, so I was able to stay in a bit longer, swimming against the current like a treadmill.
It was time to say goodbye to our home of the last few days and move on to the next phase of the adventure. Got the van all packed up, filled up with diesel, stocked up the stores and headed north.
Got to Hervey Bay in time for some late lunch by the water and to call into a trekking outfitter, who agreed to lend us some camping kit and maps for a two day trek across nearby Fraser Island.
We depart on the ferry first thing tomorrow morning…
